Looking to make a sizable purchase of the professional series, Kombi system by Stihl. Does still ever run promo's etc for Spring? I can't say that I remember seeing promo's in the past.

Buy now or wait and save a few bucks?

The dealer up the street in Texas is having one on the 9th.

I've seen "Stihl Days" around here, but the savings are usually pretty small - maybe $20 or so - from what I've seen.

I don't think I have seen Stihl give out more than $20 towards anything anytime of the year, they sell enough of there products without giving deals so they don't bother..

I get a 10% discount now and then, but that is usually less than $20 anyway.

By the way, love my Kombi, wish I hadn’t waited so long to buy it.

I know Stihl dealers around here give a discount, on top of any current promotions, for military, LEO or Fire fighters.

My Kombi is great, need to pick up the "power broom" this Spring, been a rough year clearing snow on the gravel driveway :)

I've been striking out as far as Stihl pricing...

My regular long standing dealer and the one where the farm has spent thousands on Stihl products and left great reviews are all the same... MSRP... take it or leave it... SF Bay Area.

When I was up in Washington State the Dealer there gave me a second chain and hat... I did not ask about the hat... he just said here you go... the chain was nice and I said I would also like to buy two more and he knocked something off on those.

Maybe the SF Bay Area is simply MSRP? If so this would explain a lot because this would the first time being a long standing repeat customer was no different than someone walking in off the street...

There is no selling as the items are for Father's Day gifts... just process the order and tell me when to pick up...

HLA65 and BGA85 battery powered tools...

I did ask about military and public safety, etc...

We have bought 7 gas Stihl saws and 2 battery electric and 1 plug in electric... plus hedge, pole, etc gas...

I have purchased a few products and always paid in cash. I was able to get 10% off, so not much but better than nothing.

Ultra, not sure what to say about your SF dealer based on your loyalty. Like you, I probably own somewhere around 8 Stihl products.

As mentioned earlier, swung by the Stihl dealer today and inquired about the power broom for my 130 Kombi. The broom is running $319 here!!! Anyway, he said he'll pay the tax as a MIL discount, roughly $20 on the broom (PA has a 6% sales tax). Having said that, if I wanted to go with the Yard Boss, which he had "on sale" for $349, I could grab the roller wheels as an option for 50% off. I think their normally $55, give or take. I would still have to purchase just the broom flapper wheels and hood but the Yard Boss is equipped with the tiller blades as standard, so... That is along with whatever the 6% added up to when all was said and done. My bride has been after the tiller for the garden so kind of a "win-win" for me:)

I guess where I am going with this is my particular dealer shows some willingness to try to work with the customer when able, perhaps the SF location isn't able, or willing. Good luck.

Not sure why... seems all have taken a vow... maybe collusion?

Anyone of them would have had a $1000 sale from me (Credit or Cash) but what also came as a surprise is most wanted to rom battery and sell me gas equivalents of the AP300 battery series... even when I said I already have these items in gas...

It could be growing up around the auto business... no one ever was bashful asking for a deal car, trucks, parts and service.

My cousin's husband is a Stihl Dealer in another country and last we visited he said anything I want at cost... but the location is geographically challenging as it is Austria... I did have an interesting evening as we were talking about all manor of power tools... good models and not so good from the lines he carried... he told tractors, power equipment and KTM motorcycles... the ladies said it is always the same when men get together... they talk about anything with a motor.

So back in California add 10% sales tax to the price of anything...

I might just wait until I am up in Olympia and visit my local Dealer there... Kubota and Stihl and the owner said he tries to carry the full Stihl line... it is always a pleasure doing business them and I am not even a local...
