I don't miss the snow. What I don't like is the crazy weather patterns we have been having the past few years. No snow when we need it and cold wet weather when we don't want it.

Just tonight the weatherman reminded me of how the winter has gone here in Maine...so far...

Snow on the ground for Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas.!! And THAT my friends is the truth.!! In between those hash mark holidays...nothing but rain.:confused2:

You know it's going to get stranger....

First take all the snow removal gear off and store it in the back of your garage and pile a bunch of junk on it. Put on the hardest piece of equipment to remove and park the tractor in a spot which it might possibly get stuck if it dumped snow. (remove chains if on). Sleep peacefully knowing as the munckins in Oz did, there's no place like snow:laughing:

Very disappointed with the winter so far...I love snow and everything about winter. I'm like a little kid at Christmas on the first storm. I love plowing, driving in it, photographing our beautiful state, snowmobiling, ice fishing, snowshoeing, etc

Frankly, I think the whiners are just too lazy to get out there and enjoy the seasons. God forbid we have a weather event that interrupts progress for a couple days. I'll venture a guess that my work both on the farm and on the water is affected exponentially more than the average "commuter" that bitches about the weather. If I can enjoy the seasons and work that is involved with this way of life, your 10 mile commute in 4" of snow can't be that bad. The seasons in Maine are what make this state one of the most beautiful places to live...shut up and enjoy

If commuters had to deal with 20-30 foot seas and 90kts + wind and superstructure icing at o dark early they would be happy they were home everynight after scraping the frost off the windshield and realize they are happy just to be alive.

I was actually enjoying the low snow winter. But after the last few days of heavy ice/rain I'm ready for snow. drive for a living, 1/2 to 3/4 inch of ice on roads gets this milk hauler worn out. Watched a sand truck hit the ditch and roll on its side yesterday morning. Did this 500ft in front of me. At least he was out of the way so i could keep on going.:D His ego was bruised.Quite frankly, don't know how he was staying on the road.

yup, ice sure sucks. I especially love watching all the nice 4x4's that have slid off the road up here when there's ice on the roads. Ill come driving past them in my 2WD van with studded tires and waive.

for some reason the 4x4 drivers here think they can stop on anything, and refuse to slow down.

This reminds me of a really funny thing about 2-3 years ago. I was wiring a house on top of a horrendous mountain road. I should have taken my 4x4, but the contractor never told me about the cruddy road. So i get there and there are all these rigs parked on the bottom of the hill and i guess they all walked up to the jobsite. Im too old for that crap.

So i chain up my trusty old 2wd van and drive up the hill.... i actually made it.

I was SOOOOO surprised, but the look on those guys faces when i parked my van up there was priceless..... to this day im not sure how i made it up that driveway

It sometimes pays to be lazy.
