Not saying they don't get stolen. But utility vehicles don't ever get stolen much from my part of the country. Now four-wheelers, YES , they seemed to be always the one hit, and NOBODY ever hears any more about it. I know of one Ranger that got stolen three years ago, and it got recovered quickly within two days, found two states over. BUT, 99% of reason it was stolen it was left in the side of a unsecured field by some farmers grand youngin. that left it right next to a blacktop road. So what does one expect .
You being on the farm and working the machine, may I suggest lookin' into a Kubota RTV, we work 'em much on the farms down here. And they seem to please all folks here. The RTV is not a fast machine, but is very, very strong and will always be there to please. I don't know how we ever got along without ours. We also have Honda Rubicons. But the RTV is the workhorse down here, and you feel like something at the end of the day when you get out of that machine compared to a four-wheeler >>>>>>>>

I am deffinatley planning on checking out the Kubota RTV. to be honest, the 3 I am going to look at are the JD diesel, Kubota Diesel(both models), and Kawasaki diesel. haven't made up my mind about getting the full cab in the Kubota if i decided to go that route. its mostly hot here in SC and i was thinking to just get an open station with the hard top. no windshield or anything. is the cab worth it for someone who is just going to run around, but not spend a full day on the RTV? it gets HOT here, but it can get cold at times as well, nothing like up north though. humidity is what gets to you here. another thing i have to consider is, does anyone know if the 3 models i suggested fit on a 5x10 trailer? the only time id ever hauld it around would be home from the dealer(unless they deliver?), or for service. otherwise it would stay around here most of the time. i think i am pretty much done with ATV's for now, simply because 4wheelers are beginning to be targeted for theft around here again. it seems to go in spells, and i am just tired of having to go through all that. someone told me that a UTV is alot harder to steal then an ATV so that is what really opened my eyes to considering this. any other suggestions, comments, are welcome! i'm all ears and would gladly take anyones advice that wants to offer it!

Rollings...

Sorry to hear about that.

Thinking about it, the thieves that stole it had to know of it's wherebouts and had knowledge of your place and your habits. That should narrow it down some. Did the tracks look like it was from adults? My guess, it's someone right around your area. Maybe a drive around in the evenings and talking with the neighbors, etc. I always hate this time of year...the kids are out of school and there's more trouble. Although I assume it's kids...I'm probably wrong.

On a farm, an RTV is probably the way to go. Otherwise, for hunting and the like, I think an ATV is the best. I prefer a smaller ATV to a larger one. It's lighter, less wide and you can maneuver between trees much better. When you get stuck, you can just pick up one end and lift it out.

Good point about the kids being out of school...I agree. I've feared for years losing some of my "toys" to bored kids/thieves, I keep them out of sight as much as possible, when my boys were growing up they never could understand why the ATVs and dirt bikes weren't allowed in the front yard- EVER. I figure half the battle of hanging onto your stuff is trying to prevent the lowlifes from knowing you even have it:( I'm amazed at neighbors and others that leave ATVs and stuff sitting out front in a "Hey look what I got!" manner then are shocked when it disappears. I even throw a tarp over my BX so it can't be spotted in the garage from passerbys (passersby?) on the street. Fortunately most of my out of town trips now are to my property in WNC and the BX and the ATV usually go with me so they aren't here to be stolen;) Even so I don't even take the paper anymore partly because I don't want some anonymous paper boy knowing when I'm out of town and for exactly how long when I used to stop the paper...besides our local paper is lousy anyway and I get the news by other means 99.9% of the time.

i show mine off to everyone but i also show off the awesome protection i got for them too.here's some of the alarm system and protection policy i have for my stuff. i have a brother-n-law who's into drugs bad and he stole some of his dads guns and whatever he could gethold to. so i passed the coment that if he comes over to my house and takes one of my guns i'm gonna shoot him with the other ones. I HATE A THIEF!!!! there is no room in this world for them we work hard to get our stuff and they take the easy road by stealing it from people like us.

look at the rtv 1100. i live in tn and it gets hot and humid here in the summer and the air conditioned cab is the main reason i traded my 900 for the 1100.
