I sure could use your help...My friend had his tractor stolen a little over a week ago. We are in the northeast corner of GA. I'm sure whoever stole it will try to sell it to an individual or auction house. They may even try to part it out...though it wouldn't make sense as it is an L39. I also feel it will be far far away from here when it is sold, but who knows.

Please post any leads you may have here and notify your dealer as well.. as it should be flagged through the dealer network based on the serial numbers.

L39 4wd tractor serial no. 53809
TL1000 front-end loader serial no. A1245
BT 1000 backhoe serial no. A0607

Hours... approx 460-475

He bought this tractor new in June of 2007 to start his business and like everyone here knows, he can't work without it. Something like this really puts a hardship on a family. Though he had Kubota insurance, I don't believe Kubota is stepping up to pay for a rental. If all of you would take a few minutes to pass this along to your local dealers, and/or favorite tractor websites....it surely would be a big help.

Thanks for your help, and I'll try to post any new info. here as it becomes available to me.

ADMIN-- How can we post this in all forums and highlight for greater visibility?

Details on how it was stolen? Might prevent someone from the same fate.

It would be great to have a site, with a national data base, where stolen tractor serial numbers could be stored... along with photos.

What shocked me is back when I bought my New Holland and the dealer came back out to pick it up to put the FEL on it when it came in the driver handed me my tractor ignition key back and I said leave it in there you will need it..he said no , all New Holland keys are keyed alike any NH key will work on any NH tractor..that to me was a shock..maybe others have always known that but I bet many here do not and I don't know about other tractor makes but if you are leaving your tractor outside , you might want to work out a hidden shunt switch or something.

Make sure your local LEO's have entered all the info into the NCIC vehicle file that way if it tries to go south maybe border police might snag it or maybe some other traffic stop might return a hit.

Stargazer....thanks but I'll have to plead ignorant to the acronyms...if you'll clarify I'll gladly follow thru.

The Sherriff's dept found the tracks to where it was finally loaded. I'm not sure if it was cranked or wired? Seems like Kubota would at least code their key stock for such expensive equipment. A skidsteer was stolen just a few miles from here back during the end of the summer. They cranked it up, loaded it and left...same problem...a common key.

I agree that a "dead" switch would be a great add, but you never know what Kubota will say when you modify the electrical system under warranty. But, a keyed switch like that would be great and I wonder if anyone offers just such a "keyed" secondary switch ready-to-install?

Have him search craigs list, theres a few L39's on there now, Type in your search bar "Search Tempest" it will allow you to search the whole craigs list and ebay US wide and you never know what you might find, heard of few stolen things popin up there,

ALL Kubota TLBs and KX excavators have the SAME key.

Hey Carey..I am about 15 minutes from Athens...anyway I would bet that most tractor brands are all keyed alike and it is a problem and the sad thing is most of us tractor owners are the last to know...I would bet the tractor thieves already know, so everyone figure out a way to secure your tractor if you leave it unattended .
