so strange to come across this post, as a friend of mine and my wife's family were just talking about this the other evening - topic brought up as i was inquiring about insurance coverage for the new 2305.
the larger of the two stolen pieces of machinery were found by a local news helicopter as they were on their way to cover another story. they thought it strange for such a large piece of machinery to be sitting 'out between two hills' during that time of year. it was brought up later & another individual recalled the theft....and viola!
this friend of mine family owns a large excavating/tool rental company in central ohio. they have machinery stolen/tampered with frequently. i thought surely it would be easy to track and locate, but he disagreed. he said if you could get it out of state (and believe me, he said, there are a lot of people who know how to get just about anywhere using tree/field lines and very out-of-the-way routes.) it would be easy to sell a 70K piece of machinery for 25K and it'd be gone for good!
just a little more input on this story.
