Just need to update. tractor was recovered today, (tues). Thief was caught. It seems it was some dopehead that got tired of walking and wanted a ride home. He took the tractor out today for some more joyriding and it ran out of fuel just a couple miles from State Patrols headquarters. Patrol saw tractor out of fuel in road and captured the rider. Nephew picked up tractor just a few hours ago. I want to thank everyone for their support and for looking out for the stolen tractor. Thank You.

You must be kidding!
"Prison"..... what is that?
Judge will order him to undergo "treatment" (at taxpayer expense).
His court appointed attorney will have argued that the poor guy simply needs help.
He can't be held responsible for his own actions .....because ....he is a dope head.
After "treatment" he will steal a car instead.
Cars are much faster than tractors,..... and he will learn that while in "treatment".
Isn't it wonderful that we live in such a compassionate time?

I don't believe in Karma, but sometimes it does rear it's head. Someday Kubota and other equipment manufacturers might figure out how to create unique ignition keys.

I had a friend who痴 car got stolen... couple months later found the parts listed on cl an hour from where it was stolen- with the rare parts they may have been better off just listing his vin.

Anyway- told the police the guys address within 1 house number based on research and had to twist their arm to go after him... with other stolen items and the owners manual with insurance and stuff in it on his desk he told them he didn稚 know it was stolen and it was a friends stuff.

Got off with a slap on the wrist and I saw him on another forum a year later selling another car.

The thief musta had a skill set already..?? He had to, power the glow plugs, send constant 12v to the inj. pump solenoid & jump the starter..
He was smart enough to do all that.. BUT not check the fuel tank.. lol
Unless of course the key was in it.. which is common for rural folks to do..

A simple HIDDEN master on-off switch, should be in his future.. a switch will stop electric flow TO the starter so it cant be "jumped"..

Seems like criminals are catch and release. Just last week in Chicago the cause of juvenile member of the dindu tribe stealing a car, and was held at gun point by the cars owner, and since it was late at night they turned the kid loose to his parents, to go get a good nights sleep before the legal stuff happens, and then they caught the kid the next day in another stolen vehicle.
