Akkk those roses are the scourge of south Texas they have taken over hundreds of acres of pasture. They will yours too if you do not kill them. Mowing them is the worst thing you can do as all the litte pieces will sprout and grow more. You need to poison them sooon.

Those are cactus flowers and they do spread.... I had a small bunch in a flower garden for a couple years, Although the flower is a very pretty(did I just say pretty /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif)yellow the little barbs are for keeps.... /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif

Had to dig it up /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

I know about how they spread /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif.... but the only solution I know about is to dig each one up and toss it /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif... If you know how to poison 'em out .... PLEASE let me in on it... Mowing them this time was necessary - the grass / weeds were so high you couldn't see most of 'em and It needed that mowing asap. I know we created additional plants to dig - but .....

Google Grazon and/or Ally herbicides. Grazon is from Dow and is restricted use. Ally is DuPont and not restricted. One may do what you need.

I'll have to ask my son to reseach that Grazon for me .... he works for Daddy Dow ...... (in Lake Jackson when Daddy Dow sneezes the whole town holds it's breath and says bless you)
