Stolen Truck

   / Stolen Truck #21
Last week we sent one of our trucks ('06 Western Star twin steer with 12 cu. yd. concrete mixer) to a tire shop to have new tires installed on the rear axles. The next morning the truck (with 8 new tires) was missing from the tire shop, all except some shattered glass in the snow where it was parked. The truck is still missing. We're guessing it went to a chop shop, but how do they hide a 12 cu. yd. mixer drum?

Are you kidding ?

I drove through part of canada one time. I thought they had hidden small towns. There was so many miles between gas stations that I starated getting nervous when I hit 3/4 of a tank of gasoline. :)

I am guessing that drum has a date with a few guys and some cutting torches.

I think GM trucks are very easy to steal. There have been several stolen in my area. I even had 1 stolen back in 1995

Are they easier to steal then Ford or Dodge or is it no one wants to steal a Ford or Dodge. HA HA!! Sorry guys I couldn't resist.

Update on ready-mix truck stolen Dec., 2008:

Truck was found this spring at the far end of a woods road about 30 miles from where it was stolen. Looks like local yahoos were the culprits. The 8 rear wheels and (brand new) tires were missing, as well as the concrete chutes, LED tail and side marker lamps, the mesh tarp tied between the frame rails under the mixer drum and some of the driver's personal effects. They removed 2 of the 4 front wheels but abandoned them nearby. The truck is being repaired now and should soon be back in service.

Glad you found it. Now it will be a job getting it out of the brush. Looks like she sunk in a lot over the winter months.

My buddy who got the Chevy stolen I started this post with never got it back. He ended up picking up a Regular Cab Short bed 4x4 2000 Ram 1500 with a 360. Has high miles but will just be used as a tow vehicle for his boat and the occasional trip to the hardware store, ect.
