I hate to bring this back from the dead, but I just found this:

Used Compact Tractors

third one down is a YM2002 w/ a bulldog loader.

Similar configuration to mine, but I can't tell from the photos if it is

I would be going for a ride with all paper work and a sheriff

Oh for crying out loud....MOST of the same model will look "similar", and a lot of the vn recons have a bulldog loader. I scanned this thread again, and still don't find any serial numbers, either engine or chassis. If you have none, the odds of establishing ownership even if you find "it" are almost nil. Now you're casting aspersions against a long-established dealer because a picture on their website of a YM2002 is "similar" to yours. I am truly sorry your tractor was stolen, but so far I've not seen you post anything that you can use to document ownership of a particular unit.

What paperwork? So far all he's offered as proof of ownership is some pictures. I am not doubting that he bought a tractor and had it stolen, but if you showed up at my place with a sheriff with absolutely no evidence other than a picture off our website that showed the same model you have pictures of, you'd be leaving unless you had a search warrant.

Allow me to clarify....I asked very early in this thread for serial numbers AND suggested forwarding them to as many dealers as possible. I am not unsympathetic to the man's loss. To date (unless I've missed it) there has been no disclosure of anything that would specifically document ownership...such as an invoice with a serial number. Without that or similar proof it is folly to suggest that every like model that shows up on the web "might" be the stolen tractor.

I bought my tractor (new) from Andy Weeks at Triple D, he doesn't appear to be the kind of guy that is being implicated here.

I'm not casting any aspersions, nor do I claim that this dealer, or any other dealer has anything to do with the disappearance of my YM2002. I've been made whole by my insurance company and have since moved on.

The only reason I'm bringing it up is that 2wd YM2002's w/ bulldog loaders are few and far between, in fact this is the only one I've seen in North Texas for sale since mine was stolen. Now feel free to correct me if I'm wrong, but I've been led to believe that there are very few YM2002, fewer still with a bulldog loader.

That said, you sir are correct, even if it was mine and the dealer bought it in good faith, which I don't doubt he did, there is little to nothing that I can do to bear my burden of proof to show it was mine.

You are correct, not to many 2002 2WDs around, I would go investigate it alone, theres no need to bring the sherriff yet they are busy and you dont want to cry wolf,

If you still think its your machine after you view it, then call the law!

There are import papers for ALL THE YANMARS brought in to the states, if someone claims they imported that 2002 2wd, ask to see the import papers with matching serial #s
