I have always felt that the most likely suspects in a theft like yours is the neighbors. Or some person who frequently visits the neighbors.

Rox your 95% correct, I used to be in the crime prevention biss (18 yrs.) and thats the way it usually went.

My Louisiana auto insurance policy fully covers all my trailers that are registered in my name and being pulled by my vehicle.. If the trailer is not registered in your name, there is a maximum of $500 coverage. If a vehicle not covered by my policy is pulling the trailer there is no coverage. Since all homeowners policies have been cancelled in our area, I am not sure what homeowners policies cover anymore.:(

I spent 17 years in insurance claims. Have them put the offer in writing with details, and do not accept payment yet. Something is surely wrong here. Also, see if the tractor is covered at actual cash value (used value) or replacement cost (new value), and if there are limits for such equipment.

If at replacement cost and no limits, you will soon have a new tractor. If you use the tractor for a business or use it off premises, it may not be covered at all.

Be a nice guy as long as possible with the adjuster. If you tick him/her off, they will dig in their heels and it will be a tougher battle. You will still win, but it will cause you grief.

Just an update for anyone who cares, how this saga will end.

It looks as if the Yanmar is long gone, but luckily I've got a replacement policy so I'm tasked with finding a new comparable tractor to the Yanmar. What this means is that I'll likely be getting a Kubota :D, sadly it means that I won't be doing any more of my own wrenching on it as I did on the Yanmar - I will miss that :( .

Hello:

I saw this on Ebay:

COMPACT TRACTOR - eBay (item 280192458921 end time Jan-19-08 15:41:03 PST)

It is not listed as the same model but the muffler looks the same. Yours seems pretty unique to me. Is the muffler direction common on Yanmars?

Sincerely,

Ikymojoe

Good eye, and thanks for the link, however that's a 4WD tractor, mine was just a 2WD. As to the muffler, I haven't a clue as to whether that's a common trait on Yanmar's or if it's something that rebuilders change.

Well, o.k., I just did not know if someone could change the tires and slap different stickers on it and call it a 4wd/different model. The muffler and the bulldog loader is what stood out to me.

Still keeping my eyes open....

I hate to bring this back from the dead, but I just found this:

Used Compact Tractors

third one down is a YM2002 w/ a bulldog loader.

Similar configuration to mine, but I can't tell from the photos if it is
