3-Point Hitch Stop 3pt hitch from dropping

In August of 2001 I bought my BX2200 brand new. It now has 2850+ hours on it and still running strong. I have been looking at those tabs under the fenders all this time thinking they must be for tie-downs in a trailer? During mowing season I have been taking the 3 pt. completely off the tractor. Maybe this year I'll try switching to those side tabs. Also the coiled ring pin keepers, I Have drilled the hole in the pins slightly larger and use small hitch pins to keep the cross pin in place, works very well.

How close to the ground are your 3 point arms? On my BX24 the arms clear the ground by several inches.
