Re: scanners, I have a simple 1 button scanner made by Microtek. I think that many are like this & can be bought for $50-100. You push 1 button, that opens the program with simple steps to follow. The hookup/setup documentation was pretty good also as compared to how that stuff usually is...
Re: ammo boxes, I saw some advertised at a good price in a hydraulics company catalog - maybe SCV out of Nebraska. I can't find it right now, but got the referal from a TBN post regarding the famous hydraulic TNT discussion. These boxes can also be found in any "Army Surplus" store. /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

Harv, you are a genius

No comment -- I just wanted to see what it looked like in blue. /w3tcompact/icons/laugh.gif

I am going to steal your idea,- hope you dont mind

Heck, Eric, sharing ideas is what this board is all about. He'p yo'sef!

where did you get the ammo boxes?

I happened across some at a local sporting goods store that's big on hunting supplies. I suspect somebody local to you has a supply, too. The trick will be to figure out who. LarryT says he got his a place called GI Joe's Surplus. He also points out that they're available at Northern Tool. Just select "Keyword" and search for "ammo box" and you'll see a nice selection (and reasonable prices).

I would like to get a scanner

It's been so long since I bought my scanner I don't know what to recommend (although you can bet somebody will read this and jump in /w3tcompact/icons/wink.gif). It's a safe bet that you can get a pretty good scanner for low bucks these days. And it doesn't really require a computer wiz to use them. Bird can probably attest to that (although he's becoming a lot more computer-savvy than he lets on /w3tcompact/icons/crazy.gif).

Re: scanners.

We have a Visioneer USB 7600. Paid about $100 for it, and it was a snap to install (just plugged it in). It has several "1-button" functions: Scan, fax, copy, email. Each is clearly marked on each of the buttons. Push the copy button (for example) and it just prints a copy on the printer. Push the fax button, & it scans the image, then a window pops up asking for the phone number.

I didn't want to mount a toolbox with welding or bolts so I did this...It's just a 13" $4 toolbox from WalMart and a couple of those plastic ties.
