Storing a tractor long term (2 months) in storage container in south texas

As others have mentioned, vent it down low with a good secure screen, maybe up on top of both ends have solar fans, pulling air out. Pulls cooler air from down low and pushes hot air out of the top. No power needed. Could do a solar trickle charger too.

I stored my tractor in the sun with 125 degree desert temps all summer long for 15 years. At that extreme heat and sun it made some hoses crack, made the seat crack, but otherwise no problems

Use a piece of wood to hold the clutch in if there is no latch for the clutch. Keeps clutch from rusting to the pressure plate.

That's my idea but probably vent up high in several key areas as well as several attic style vents on roof..I'm afraid down low will just invite critters... I like the idea of solar fans.... We are quite windy since I'm only 60 miles from the coast so an attic turbine would wire..

Somewhat off topic, but I built public schools in the desert for 17 years before retiring. Often we had a problem with some finish material "behaving badly". Many times the contractor would say, well the problem is that the building was not air conditioned prior to our installation so not our fault. I would look them straight in the eye and ask "so when shipped from the manufacturer and stored on site here the materials were stored in air conditioned containers". End of discussion.

Your tractor when new probably was stored in an air conditioned container when shipped from the manufacturer so don't worry. :laughing:

Solar attic fan on top and screened vents low on container. Rats love our containers down here even though we have no seed etc stored in them. Put some biocide in your tank to prevent algae and you should be fine.

I guess that I'd try and fix the rat/mice problem first.

Have you tried pest control, barn cats, traps, etc?

How are rats getting into your container? Those things are built like bank safes. Here is a pic of my M6060 sitting in her new home.
