Getting ready for winter and took the MMM and FEL off - Plow on. No room in the garage for MMM and FEL (and wife's car.) Already tried and the car has got to stay or I will be sleeping outside.

Anyone have any creative (read cheap) solutions to keep them high and dry outside. I wouldn't mind spending some money but since we are probably going to move in the next couple of years I don't want to spend the dough for a shed. Ideally, I could take whatever with me. I guess I feel a tarp would be better than nothing but would like to do a little better for them.

Thanks for any ideas.

The quick and the dead solution is a Port A Hut and it goes together much quicker than a hoop shed, it is also portable like a hoop shed but has solid walls versus fabric and it does not require that it is anchored as the hoop shed is nothing more than a parchute when the wind picks it up.

(I wish I had done that instead of a hoop shed for sure).

Costco has been selling a nice canopy with a steel frame and zippered door for $199 in northern CA. It's 10x20 and fits my BX24. The peaked roof fits the ROPS with room to spare.

Would you be able to store the MMM in the garage, along with the wife's car, if you could stand the mower up on it's side? If so, check out these MMM axle's from Larry's Mower Axle Mower Deck Axles,Carrera,Cayman,John Deere,Kubota.

Also, if being able to move your FEL around in the garage would help your storage situation, check out BXpanded's website for their FEL dolly Loader/Backhoe Dollies. If this won't work for you, I would suggest a motorcycle cover for the FEL. I used one of these for my BH for a year before I had a large shed delivered. They are about $25 at Wally World and worked great.

I keep all my implements in the garage on home built custom dollies. If I didn't have garage space, I'd get some pallets, drop the implements on them, then cover first with heavy polypropylene, then a heavy ripstop nylon tarp (with HD grommets for tie down) on top of that. I might even stack pallets two high before placing the implement, then tie the tarp to the lower pallet. This would keep the implement higher than the bottom of the tarp. You can get the plastic at the home center and heavy tarps from http://www.campmor.com Search for "Ripstop Polyethylene Tarp" and you'll get numerous results ranging from $3.50 to $15.00.

On the BH, you might save space by swinging the boom to one side, curl boom and bucket, then lower boom. It should be stable if you leave the stabilizers up. I'd cross tie them tightly to each other with a compression strap to prevent drift down.

Hey Tom.

Are your custom dollies made of wood or metal? I want to make some from wood (Don't have a welder), but really am unsure of the dimensions.

Place attachment on wood pallet cover w/tarp but not tie tight.
