Wasn't too serious. Got up just before eight, saw lights in the distance, good to go. Couple years ago we were down about ten hrs. One refuel in that time.

That was some pretty severe wind. Three inches of snow stuck on branches in a heavily wooded area. Before and after pics of the area. BDEAC1A3-6A37-49B2-AED6-1E22BED1BAAD.jpegBD1364FF-2A32-4C74-98FA-A32DCF479DE9.jpeg

How do you heat the house?

We usually get at least one or two power outages a year. So far this year it's been 2. The last one lasted for 9 hrs, which isn't too bad. Last year was the worst one in the 13 years we've been here. We got 4' of snow in 24 hrs and high winds that knocked out the phone lines for 3 days and the power for 4 days. We couldn't go anywhere because the main road to our area didn't get plowed for 3 days and the secondary road we live on didn't get plowed until the 4th day. Didn't really matter that the main roads weren't plowed, since it took me a few days to get my driveway opened up.

That was a surreal experience and one that I will never forget. I was prepared so it was actually a pretty cool experience.

We’re on oil heat. Previous owner didn’t want to spend the cash To hook up when the natural gas line was put in. I always have a spare 45 gallon drum full sitting to back up the 200 gal tank. Gas for the generator could be a problem, only have enough for a couple of days.
