Strange, but WELCOME! weather

I guess Harold Taft was the most popular weatherman ever on TV in the Dallas area. Of course, David Finfrock was just a kid training under Taft. I just now read a story in The Dallas Morning News in which all the weathermen are saying we have chance (slim, but a chance) of a summer with no 100 degree days; only happened twice since 1898 according to their sources.

Wow! A slim chance of zero 100 degree days! Neither you nor the weatherman should have mentioned it - - now you know it won't happen.

For what it's worth, you have received more rain in central Texas than I have in SE La., where we average 60 inches a year. So far, my rain gauge is at 2.35". I'm sure I am lower than some of the surrounding area - - I swear that I'll watch a rainstorm approach on the computer & the bloomin' thing splits like the Red Sea just before it passes by & staddles me. I've had several days of a 'trace' - - too little to measure.

You are getting all the rain that is supposed to end up in our neck of the woods. Here in middle part of North Carolina, we have a 15 inch rainfall deficit since last year. Hay crops are 1/3 of normal and most farmers are feeding hay they've had to buy elsewhere. Most communities are on some mandatory water restrictions, and some of the shallower wells are failing. If you're feeling a bit waterlogged, we'll be glad to take any you have to spare!
