Reminds me of a local "rock". Some years ago, someone noticed a 1/2 ton rock high in the fork of a tree. There has been much speculation how it got up there. It get's featured in the local paper every few years. read below, guess it fell over!

Yeah, that is really odd. Surprised the tree can handle the weight and has not fallen over...

I was deer scouting in Oregon back in the 90s. When I came upon the strangest thing I ever saw in the forest.
It was pieces of slaughtered cows hung on the fir trees held up by strings and there was a fire pit in the middle.
The meat was not rotten yet, in fact it looked quite fresh still. There were also cow heads and horns hanging along with the rest. Needless to say the hair on my neck started to stand, not that I was scared, but it gave me the creeps big time! after about 5 minutes I decided that I really would not want to (meat) the people who did this or be there when they arrived, so I high tailed it out of there quickly.
There are some strange people walking around amongst the rest of us..:confused2:
It felt good that I was armed to the teeth that day!:thumbsup:

Spend most of my time hunting in a tree stand with a bow. Last year decide to go out and walk some with the 12 gauge during shotgun season. Came across a 50-51 Studebaker pretty much intact, a lot of rust and not much left of the interior. First Studebaker I've ever seen in person. The round grill emblem was pretty cool.

I've found several Studebakers in the woods around here... but they were made here, and I still see some on the road almost weekly. :thumbsup:

The grist mill story reminded me of another find. I was walking along a wet weather spring when I came to a large rock that had been split and one part was gone. In the side of the part that was still there was half of a circular drill hole. I asked my grandfather about it and took him to see it. He had lived on the farm for around 70 years and didn't know who could have drilled and split the rock or why. This was over 40 years ago and it remains a mystery.

Nothing like you guys... did find some Model A Ford parts on our property... must have been dumped a long time ago... just so happened I needed a few.

A little weird, but once I took my dogs out for a walk on my neighbor's property, they have 1100 acres, and we have permission to visit. Anyway, we were walking along, near a gravel road, and there is a lane that goes back into the woods. My boxer was sniffing at something, and he wouldn't leave it. I walked over to see what it was, and it was a pair of women's panties. I got a stick, because I didn't want to touch it, picked up the purple panties, noticed 2 things - first they were crotch less, and 2nd, they were labeled "Thursday"!! I started thinking that that meant this girl had a whole weeks worth of these tarty things!

After I thought this thru, I looked around a bit. I could see where a car had come into the lane, and impressions along side the tracks. I looked a little more, found $4 in change! I tossed the panties aside, but my boxer wanted them real bad. I had to drag him away, otherwise he was going to take them home. No way I could ever explain that!
