Clyde - antler.jpg
Clyde, our 3-leggged Labrador mix is a champ at toad hunting. He just loves to chase them down, sling 'em, get the old foamey mouth, and kill 'em.
Last year while recovering from the leg amputation he was wearing the "cone of shame" to keep him from licking his wounds and tearing out the stitches. It didn't take him long to learn that he could put the cone flat on the ground and trap the toads with it.

Callie the cat likes to drink out of Clyde's elevated water bowl. If the water is low she splays her front paws on either side and dips her head until she gets to the water.

I thought toads were lethal to dogs, but it appears it may be the other way around!

When my wife's Chihuahua doesn't want to do something, she runs and hides...... In the exact same location day after day.

:laughing:Yep, creatures of habit. Our Chihuahua hates to get wet, so if she even thinks my wife is getting ready to give her a bath, she goes and hides under our bed.

We had a border collie mix that would get in the bathtub and put her head behind the shower curtain anytime there was thunder.

If she was outside at night and heard an owl, she would run up to the back door, sit down, put her head against the door and close her eyes until we let her in.

She was a chicken.

On the other hand, if a group of children were playing in the yard, she'd run up and bark at all of them, run circles around us while nipping at our heels until we were all in a group, then lay there with her head down until one of us moved, then she'd start over again...... I think she thought we were sheep!
Our border collie, who just passed a few months ago, was the same way. Perhaps the worst was the 4th of July celebrations when the people on our court would blacken the pavement with illegal fireworks. She'd be a mess for days. Rest her soul.

What's going on with either my system or the forum - when I click on that pic it comes out upside down?
/edit - oriented correctly before clicking on thumbnail

Layla, aka Miss Piggy, rides with her nose to the AC vent to get the maximum cooling effect.

Do your dog a favor and put her on a diet, she is way too fat and that is not healthy for a dog or any mammal to be overweight. We may not be able to put ourselves on a strict diet, but our pets can be easily diet restrictive.

his oddity is we can't get him to drink water out of anything but a dripping
bathroom sink. no bowls, no small water dispensers for hamsters, nothing
but a sink. .
We had a Siamese cat that did that. Only drank from faucet. He would jump up on the tub to drink when running bath water or on the kitchen counter and go to the sink and meow till we turned on the faucet for him. STRANGE CAT

The wife's German Shepherd will come wanting a scratch but prefers to scratch his back just in front of his tail for starters. He always puts his butt toward you for a scratch the turns round and round so you can scratch his sides, neck, belly and lastly his ears and jowls. When scratching his ears, he will put pressure on your hand so he gets a heavy scratching around his ears. I thought he might have ear mites but the vet says no.
We have to keep all the doors locked otherwise he opens all of them. He will open the patio door, go outside leaving the door open, the come around to the garage and open that one to come in, then go lay in front of the patio door till someone comes to shut all the doors. He learned to open the doors at months of age. He also comes into the bedroom, opens my door, rears up on the bed and puts his paws across whatever part of my body happens to be in the way (face or chest) and wakes me up. Sometimes it is to go outside while other times after he wakes me he pads back to his bed. This occurs from 4:30am to not later than 6 am. He thinks I should be up to watch the sun come up. We both sit on the patio while I drink a cup of coffee while he plays with his well chewed up Frisbee.
