I have not used the lifter very much, so I started to think of how to modify it for other uses without interfering with its original use. Since it is so light, and lifts objects about as near the quick attach plate as you can get, it should have more lift capacity than any other attachment. I decide to add chain connection points. With a chain I should be able to pulls post and maybe some stumps a little easier. I basically added a post next to each loop to create a chain link grab point between.

See attached pictures.

Bob,

You are quite efficient with a welder. Why do you not make your own Quick Attach plates? Just wondering as I had planned to make my own...

I generally buy what I can and make what I can't. I try to make unique and simple items just for the challenge of making it simple. The strap lifter attachment is the best example of that.

I did have a friend make six of them and he sold me two. They were of excellent quality. Actually he did the drawings and had a machine shop fabricate them.

That aside, it's probably not a bad idea. It means I could customize it for my particular application. Perhaps I could make the strap lifter even simplier.

I needed to move an old stump today. It was about 6 feet long and 3 feet wide at the base. I wrapped a chain around it and attached it to the strap lift attachment. I was able to drag this through the woods and around the trees making two 90 degree turns while going backwards. I was kinda surpised how well that worked. My guess is the stump weighted about 600 to 800 pounds. I never lifted the whole thing, just the smaller end. See attached photo. I used my cell phone camera, so the resolution is not the greatest. The stump was so rotten that I was able to just push it over.
