^^^ Would exposure to the element extremes be a factor?

I know different types of bulbs can be problematic especially with temperature extremes.

Still too early to tell here... city of 400k+ swapped out all the street lights.

I wonder where the money for the city came from? A lot of it is Federal dollars that their congressman gets for them to spend on Green projects that claim to save energy without any concern to the expense of doing it or how long it takes to see a return on that savings. Windmills are a great example of Federal dollars used to support an industry that wouldn't exist without funding. No city, county or state has ever bought a windmill with their own money. No energy company has either. They cost too much and it costs more to keep them going then they generate in usable electricity.

It looks like the lights I want are on backorder. I really need them to finish my fence, so I'm now looking into another brand and/or source.

As you mentioned there were outside incentives... low interest loan and PGE money...

On a related note...

This will be the kick off year for my brother's Christmas tree farm/lot... the property he purchased has a long history of selling Christmas trees so they are giving it a go.

Lighting is a huge issue... gone are the day when you could buy two spools of 12 gauge wire and string lights... mostly because county regs discourage this and around here buying a $20 case of 100 bulbs is not longer an option... bulbs cost a lot... and the LED bulbs are 60 to 75 times more expensive per bulb.

I borrowed a 12' light stand with a 300W sodium bulb from my Multiquip Dealer yesterday... it throws out a lot of light... the mini tower is expensive and he would need 4 to 6 of them from Thanksgiving to Christmas...

Lighting is no longer simple... this I have learned.
