Stripping and more on Gator blades for BX 60\"

I recently added what I thought would be a good striping mod to the back of the 60" bx MMM deck. I sandwiched a 1/4" of vinyl to three spots of the deck. This vinyl is about 2" taller than the deck rides off the ground and drags on the lawn as you cut. I was hoping it would make the same white stripes as the rear tires but it didn't, it did add a little more contrast to each direction. Maybe if the vinyl was heavier and stiffer it would have more contrast? Was it worth the time??....maybe, not something I run out and do again.

Another thing I noticed while running the 60" BX mower with high lift Gator blades. I noticed it didn't make a difference if you ran the mower full throttle or even half throttle for most of my lawn. In the really thick and tall areas over the septic field there's a difference, but everywhere else there isn't. It still sucks up and cuts the grass the front tires smash down. So now for most of the lawn it just run enough engine speed to get the ground speed I like.

What model gator blades are you using. I thought they werent availabe for the Kubota 60" decks.

I think stripping has come up before. I would do a search.

I'm using a non-standard set that fits the 60" Kubota deck with the 1.125" spindles, #90-987. I made some bushings and started using them toward the end of the season last year. They're the hardened or tempered magnum series, these have stayed sharp much better and not needed a sharpening yet. I really like them over stock.
