Stubborn grease fitting

I have trouble with that same fitting too. I have a pneumatic grease gun that hooks up to the compressor and that gun rarely will put grease in the fitting. I usually end up with a manual pump gun, and even then it takes grease very slowly, it must be a tight space.

That's my understanding on the CK30. I just rotate the axle it's full range and work in the little bit of grease that the zerk takes.

i was just fooling with this crap tonight on that ferris ztr i bought....

some wouldn't take grease.....some i pulled out and replaced, they still wouldn't take grease...some i pulled and took a small picked and cleaned out the hardened grease and reinstalled.....they didn't take grease either.....

two i took the unit apart, cleaned, put never-seize (probably shouldn't), re-greased and put back together and they worked flawlessly....

the other are MUCH more difficult to take apart, clean and put back together....i'd really like to try one of those rejuvenators.....but even then it would be hard to get to them, let alone swing a hammer.....

i wish it were a simple as not putzing around and just replacing the fittings....i have the HF sae and metric fitting kits.......they are handy with all the junk around here that has fittings...

edit: i just found some that have a short flex hose.....i don't see how you would hit it with a hammer.....maybe you don't have to hit it as hard as i was thinking..........if i knew it would work, i'd order one today....

My Kioti DK45DR HST Cab zerks will not take grease. Thanks, I will try your ideas tomorrow. I think the grease worms attacked them because of my lazy butt.

Totally agree with comment by IslandTractor on page 1 about the Rejuvenator tool. I've used the Rejuvenator (note spelling) multiple times with no problem. Takes a little finesse and it's a little messy, and the operation might have to be repeated several times to unclog the fitting, but you get the hang of it.

Never, Never use a Rejuvenator on angle fittings. The fitting will brake off the 1st time. If you replace the angle fitting with a straight one then you need to get the Rejuvenator in a straight line onto the straight fitting. That will never happen. The reason it was an angle fitting in the first place was because you couldn't get the grease gun onto the fitting. There was not enough room.

Good point but you could wedge something behind the angle fitting before using the rejuvenator that would absorb the shock load. Your point is well taken but I suspect a work around is possible.
