Creeper--it was your posts that I was thinking of when I tried using the bucket to get out. And it was your posts that made me think to get my camera. My wife and daughter were mortified that I was stuck, and equally mortified that I wanted to document it with the camera! And if you look at the first photo I posted, in the top part you'll see someone walking up the hill to his car. That's the nice gentleman who immediately stopped when he saw I was stuck and came down to offer his SUV to pull me out. He's going back to get his car in the photo. It didn't budge the tractor, nor did my wife's SUV. Both just spun and burned grass. He also turned out to be a JD tractor owner, visiting NC from New Hampshire. Very nice and generous person. He and I traded tractor stories as he stayed around to see the tow truck pull it out.

Why don't you have the top link hooked up? That would help you raise the brush hog higher transfer weight and get more traction on the back tires closer to solid ground?

The rotary cutter was digging into the hillside as I tried to back up, so the first thing I did was to remove it. What you see is the top link removed in preparation of getting the rotary cutter off the tractor.
