"Big-time" What?, I dont even see any mud in the pictures. I think I could have got that out with a 1/2 ton 2-wheel drive pickup. Big-time is when you got to bring in dozers and excavators to get the machine out. I have not met a mud-hole yet that has been a match for my 4wd tractor with loader and R1 tires that I have been running the last 5 years. When the tires dont pull me thru, the loader does. If I ever do push it a little too far, I am sure I will be needing a dozer or excavator to get me out. In the old days, when all I had were 2wd's, I would get stuck, usually worse than in that picture, 3-4 times a season.

1/2 ton ... 2 wheel drive? Give me a break ... you could not have pulled the rear 3 point atatchment out with that!! You state " I have not met a mud-hole yet, that has been a match fo my 4wd tractor with loader" ...I have stuck my little 43 hp 4 wheel drive with FEL so **** tight that it took 145 hp and duals to un stick it ... the 4 wheel drive 1 ton dually just sat there and wished it could ... YOU AIN'T BEEN STUCK ... even in the so called old days.

Either the voice of experience or you have a bottom to your mud. Up where we are, the mud forms and goes deep. One second you're rolling the next your on the belly spinning the tires uselessly.

Now those excavators are "stuck" BIG TIME. how did they get them out?

gilbertmsg, I have no idea how they got them out. Those pics were emailed to me awhile ago. This is all the email said about them:

"Here are some photos taken from between Guernsey, and Watrous. (Guernsey /Watrous is about 45 mins SE of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan) They wanted to spray the field, and got their sprayer stuck.

They brought in an excavator, to dig it out. They made the mistake of letting the excavator sit over night, and found it in the morning."

All they have to do is run the excavators down a couple of more feet, then backfill over the top, disc/harrow it smooth and get back to farming.

In response to the original picture that tractor is not stuck all that bad and it had a long way to go before flipping over. I use to work at our county highway department on the mowing crew and getting stuck is not all that uncommon, 9 times out of 10 we were able to use another 2 wd tractor to pull it out, if it was really stuck we'd take a tandem loaded with gravel or dirt and it would pull it out just fine.

In that particular photo we would have had the tandem on the road pulling it and it would have pulled it right out.

I have seen it on VA 15. They mow it every year and one year it was wet and they got stuck a batwing there and the ground after they pulled it out looked like a battlefield.
