stuck clutch

My M9 open station is sitting outside and has been for a few weeks next to the shop (in the rain), but no worries as it don't have a clutch anyway.

The DK55 comes with a latch that holds the clutch pedal down when parked. As for a tractor sitting outside, rain will not enter the bell housing. There should be a drain hole in the bottom to let water or oil out. Condensation is the issue so even if the tractor is in a barn, it will be exposed to the same humidity. As to releasing a clutch that is frozen, it may help to park the tractor for a week with the clutch pedal depressed then try driving it into the pile again. Another thing you can try is to take off the starter and spray brake cleaner over the clutch disk area.

I've had best luck putting the rears on jack stands then starting and letting the engine roll the tires. Then apply both brakes. Usually I put in a low gear with low RPM to start and gradually apply. If the engine wants to stall out, then I will increase the throttle. Sometimes I will try a quick "stab" braking if gradual doesn't work. Just make sure you are in 2wd.

I had an HG crawler that liked to weld the clutch frequently. I also had a very large pine tree in the backyard with a chain around it and 15 foot extra. Hook chain to drawbar and get a running start with clutch depressed and it would break loose. There was also the ability to loosen it by prying each of the "fingers" of the pressure plate after manually rotating the flywheel around to each one thru the access hole.

Induce a sudden load on the drive train can often pop free a stuck clutch. The DK55 has clutch engagement lever for long term storage to keep this from happening, many gear tractors do.

The clutch finally broke free. I drove it down the road in high gear and kept jamming the brakes on and it popped free. I won't be storing it again without latching the clutch!.........Thanks for all the tips.

NOT all tractors will have clutches that will get stuck to the flywheel, it all depends on what material was used to make the clutch plate,

Some are much worse about that, than others.

Apparently his is susceptible…so good on him to use the latch provided to prevent a reoccurrence 😉
