Stuck in low range

If the DK35 is like the CK30, a previous thread said to
raise the front wheels slightly off the ground to take the
forces off the MFWD gears. It works, so I do it that way
almost all the time, for all speed range shifting.

I believe your tractor, just as mine, have the range selector and the 4WD linkage connected.

The range selector, at the bottom of the handle has a round bushing where the 4WD lever connects. It needs to be well greased. The very best thing you can do is to remove the seat, and disconnect that range lever, fill that bushing with a good bearing or axle grease and put it back together. It's not really difficult, and it will ensure many more hours without a problem

WD 40 should work in the short term, but it dissipates much faster than will a good grease right in the bushing. I did that on my CK20 and it's Soooo easy to change ranges now.

Took about an hour all together.

By the way, I also used a can of delayed viscosity lithium grease and sprayed it onto all the rest of the linkage just to make sure that it's all good and lubricated. That also helps to reduce any rusting of the linkage.

If you're into motorcycles I have found that the aerosol chain lube is also a good sticky spray grease that holds on well for a good long time. I have found some decent chain lube at walmart in their little mini motorcycle section. I use it on door hinges too.

I use Bel-Ray for chain lube on my motorcycles. The stuff is incredible and holds on very well. You can get it at a local bike shop for about $6 a can.

Thanks for all the help! I was able to spray some lube on the linkage and free it up. I did however notice that the linkage that attaches to the transmission case is tweaked. I managed to bend it back into shape but it appears to be a weak link in the design. I think I may take it off and weld on a piece of round bar or flat stock to reinforce that area. Has anyone else noticed this?
