Stuck Tractor on Large Stump

/ Stuck Tractor on Large Stump #21
my first thought was that i know these modern tractors have a safety shut off fuel switch that will shut the fuel flow off for safety if the tractor rolls over or gets too inclined...?

anyway, glad it all worked out...live and learn and we all do

Filled tank and bled 6 times still won't turn over. Is this normal? How many times should I do this ? Everytime I bleed it gas is coming out along with bubbles. I'm afraid of flooding engine. Anything else it could b or should I keep bleeding it?

The OP said When I turn the key the engine wants to turn over but it won't (all the electrical works). If it a steep angle could you be getting oil into the cylinders and creating hydro lock? If that is possible, pull the injectors and check it. Or check for a loose ground. I've had things shift and loosen the neg cable at the battery.

Just so we are all sure on what you mean by "turn over" You do mean dont you that the engine will crank over when you turn the key, and it will crank at a normal rate but the engine will not run right? Because if you mean the engine will not crank or "turn over" then that is a whole different problem. Please be specific, as it really helps to diagnose the problem. Remember we are thousands of miles away, and it is very difficult to see and hear what you are seeing and hearing. I dont think you could "flood" the engine by the bleed procedure. the idea is to remove the air in the lines. remember it has no carb or float bowl just an injector pump to inject high pressure diesel fuel directly into the combustion chambers and usually a "lift" pump to take fuel from the tank to the high pressure injector pump. I am no diesel mechanic by a long shot, but there are diesel mechanics on this board, and if we can give them the best information we can then the chances of getting this fixed by "remote control" are very good. Thanks

Correct it cranks but engine won't start. When bleed line have done 20 times air coming out w fuel does that mean still need to bleed or is it normal to bubble when line is bled.

If you've done this 20 times and air is still coming out... I wonder if the fuel line as a hole in it?

I'd do a thorough inspection of the fuel line runs. I've had a stick come up from the ground and break or crimp a line before.

Bottom line, You should not have any air in the line... just fuel coming out.

Safety:
Operator Presence System that will shut the tractor off if the operator leaves the seat while the tractor is in gear.

I'm not sure of any other safety systems or how they work on this model tractor.

Add: Fuel System
Type Direct injection

Injection Pump Type In-line with electric shutoff. ?? Blown fuse?

First let me congradulate you for your wife letting you back out to play today !!!!

Got to be something giving the system air, think about what happened right before, during and just after ... the smallest air intrusion can cause problems.

I hope you get her going.
