I haven't checked but I expect that alternator is available immediately on Amazon.

Also, as I recall when I bought that alternator at Autozone in 2003, (in stock at the neighborhood store, $29!) the same alternator was used across several years on Datsun etc. But Datsun went to a different regulator for it a year or so later.

Yeah, but I have warranty with it, so I have to play the wait game. Good for me it tested fine.

Dropped ring gear off today.....getting closer. I'm guessing that ring gear came from Japan....it had oriental writing all over it

Well, my mechanic got the ring gear on and all is well with that. Then, I am told that the clutch kit is not correct......the clutch disk is too big and the pressure plate hole is too small of a diameter.......I know that I ordered the correct one from allstatesag, and went and cross referenced it and it matched. However, I looked at a review on that exact part and the reviewer had the exact same issue. So, whomever is making those clutch kits, is making them out of spec. This is getting to be kind of a headache with allstatesag......getting double charged for stuff, not getting parts that I ordered, 2 incorrect parts.......this is slowing my mechanic down and at $100/hr, his work is backing up.

I strongly suspect Yanmar used the same clutch parts that went into Japanese cars of that era. Take your old clutch and disc to a 70 year old mechanic who will recognize them, and order that.

Mechanic got the 165D running yesterday!!! Only has to put loader back on and she's all done, can't wait!

Picking up tractor today before starting my shift.....luckily I will get a taste of running it briefly while loading it on the trailer!!
