yeah not here either
they probably think we can get their fios or w/e it is because people two miles away can get it but nope we got jack here
I live on my cellphone hotspot, at least my company pays for that unlimited, but I'd like the house to have a default internet and not have people constantly "hey can you turn your hotspot on?" because it turns off if I move out of range and nobody's then using it

I'm the O/P on this and wonder if the Verizon LTE Home Router for internet connection has worked out for others in rural areas? I see it advertised from time to time and have seen TV ads as well. Any updates? Has it spread the internet to the rural areas?

It's now also 5G but I'm not sure of the benefits of that or even what it is.

I've been using it in rural OHio for over a year. Not going to say it's fast ( prob 20-30) but it is reliable. The prior provider was line of sight and it dropped every day.

With Verizon we can stream shows and I use it for Zoom without issue, Our area isn't 5G yet

I had Verizon through a Mobile Virtual Network Operators (MVNO) provider. Verizon did not offer a home plan to my address, so I went with a MVNO that did. Pretty weird eh?

In any case, it was expensive, and performance was just - adequate.

Now we have T-Mobile as the home based internet connection, and still use Verizon for cell phones. The T-Mobile connection/speed and throughput is way better than Verizon's was.

If Verizon is your only choice, I'd say give them a try.

Have you looked at coverage maps for the providers in your area?

Do you know much about 5G ?

We've had it for almost 2 years now. We don't get 5G speeds here but I average between 40 and 70 down and 8 - 15 up. Costs $40 a month as an add on to my Verizon cellular plan.

My only complaint is, they throttle speeds after a data threshold is reached. We only have an issue with it if we use Zoom a lot and stream an unusually high number (for us) of videos.

I am on Verizon LTE Home. It works great. It is throttled to 50 Mbps max download but no data caps. Here are my current speeds. The only problem is I wanted another router for my shop and Verizon only allows one per address. I got an AT&T hotspot for the shop as AT&T home internet is not available at my address, as 5G is not yet available. Once AT&T home internet is available I will switch to it for the shop.
