Tractor
John Deere 2210
Bought a 5 ft rear blade for my 2210, spent 2 hours trying to get it on. Can't seem to get them lower arms spread out enough to get it over the pins , loosened everything, even took some stuff apart and still not working. This being my first tractor I realize I'm pretty ignorant about this stuff, but come on ,it can't be this hard what am I doing wrong?

What brand of blade did you buy?
Also, did you assemble the blade?

Is there a chance that the lower lift pins on the
blade could be turned to the inside of the framework?

and as always,, pictures speak volumes here!

Like Dutch said, on the sub-compacts sometimes you have to turn the pins on the inside for it to work. I had to do this on my Woods blade when I had a Kubota B-7200. It doesn't really have any impact on the way it works just makes it easier to hook the arms on.
Good luck

Like Dutch and Steve said. relocate the pins to the inside. I had to do this with my King Kutter. My york rake measures 20" across and the pins point outward. My back blade measures 27 1/2" across and the pins had to be faced inward to fit on the arms.

I know you probably already checked this, but can you adjust the turnbuckles on the lift arms any more. That might buy you a couple of inches on each side.

Did you release the sway bars, or pins in them, whichever

I'm sure you probably did but hey,,, sometimes we just forget the simple things.

Thanks for all the feedback I really appreciate it , I found my problem, the ball swivels in the upper arms that raise and lower the whole thing were froze up. After using some LPS on them and yanking back and forth like like crazy I got them loosened up, now everything seems to work fine , blades mounted (King Kutter) and we're ready to go.
Sure do love these forums , A Harley forum I go to had answers to my Questions on that subject, this forum is just as good or better on this subject. THANKS.
