last night while unhooking my box blade on my 1800 and droping my flashlight a few times I looked at those little red tail lights and thought "why in the world th boto put them on"
Really what good are they? shoot the thing has the big yellow flasher if I did decide to run it down the road.
now for my real question can I get a clear lens to replace the red ones? I know it would not be much light but a little is better than none and it would look stock

Are you worried that your wife will do more night time mowing?
Tractor Supply has some lens ...or maybe JC Whitney. I doubt that Kubota would have em, but that is a guess.

Chucko,

Do a search and you'll find a lot of information on people mounting work lights on the rops. I don't do enough stuff at night to justify it, but it is pretty cost effective. 12 volt lights at Tractor Supply are about $15.

Yea I know I can go buy a light and add it....I just had to rant at why they would waste time with that little useless red tail light......I am feeling much better now

For me, the red tail lights aren't useless, neither are the flashing amber ones. I use my Kubota for farming and run on public roads in the evening.

The taillights and flashers are required by federal Law. All my implements have them too.

I'm like Daryl, I'm on the public roads quite a bit with my tractor and use the lights. Sometimes I even use one of those little amber round and round ones. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I has been amazing how many fatalities that have been told about here in the past. Most were on tractors that got run over by cars.

Chucko,

I clear a neighbor lady's driveway during the big snows. She lives about a quarter-mile down the road and I've gone over there at night in snowstorms. I'm kinda glad to have those stupid red lights and amber lights flashing when I'm out on nights like that.

Once your neighbors know you and your wife have a tractor, you'll probably be on the road more at night and glad you have 'em too...

Jerry:

Where did you get your round & round one? I'd like to get a strobe for the top of the cab just to have a better safety margin. For some reason, people like to come right up on me when I am pulling implements. Sometimes it's a little scary, especially on Friday night when I am running late.

I'd like a removable one, that's self contained if you know of any.

I carry a amber strobe in my snowmobile. When we stop at night on the trail and you turn your engines off, you have no lights. In the woods, you can't even see your hand in front of your face. I get the battery powered strobe out and sit it on the hood. That way, if someone is coming, they know we are there.

The strobe I have in the sled is a little one for climbers, way too small for the tractor.
