one TBN'er suggested dryer sheets in tractor to ward off mice. I dunno if it really works or not, but its worth a try. I took a few sheets of bounce and rolled it up and put in it my BX. I got one in battery compartment where all the wires and fuses are, and another on air filter clamp. It's been there for a couple years now and I think I oughta change them out now. I call it cheap insurance.

I've tried Bounce dryer sheets and also concentrated peppermint oil (expensive) which was gaurenteed to work. Dont waste your time or money with either.

Once we got some cats, the mice just never showed up after that!

The cats have taken up foraging farther and farther from the house.

Haven't seen a mouse in quite some time....

I found some mice in my wooden shed where I store my mower tiller and other misc equipment. They chewed the heck out of my mower. Nawed the spark plug wire in two. Cant find a good way to keep them out but I did find a good way to kill them. Apparently if you use an insect room fogger rated for a 2000 square foot room in an 8x10 shed it will act like a gas chamber. Came in after fogging for hornets and found those little critters all dead. Come to think of it I haven't seen them back.

Rodents don't like mothballs...i scatter them around my cabin porch where they hang out....as far as the tractor, and i've had my share of rodent den/gnawing problems: until i get a shed up, i cover my tractor with 6 mill CLEAR visquine, and also raise the hood as they don't like light. In addition, i purchased those large type mothball thingies (w/plastic hangers) and strap (nylon ties) a few under my hood AWAY from anything that's too hot (above radiator, etc)....haven't had any problems since. just be sure they're secure. would not raise hood w/tractor uncovered as it will funnel rain right onto engine. you might research just how flammable mothballs are just to be sure (let me know) good luck bb

I have been having some serious mice issues this year. Just this past weekend, I started up the tractor to do some work and some paper and what not came out of the exhaust. Tractor finally started up and I reved up to a little above idle to warm up and the engine sounded like it was going to die. Then all of a sudden all I hear is "thooomp" and this fat mouse gets shot out of the exhaust about 8-10ft and the rest of the nest came flying out as well. Tractor has only been parked about 3 days at this point.

They are getting into my cars, and other small equipment. I use to have a bunch of barn cats out in the horse barn, but over the years a either a Fisher Cat got them or actually a neighbor adopted one or two, I would get more but my bulldog goes after the cats too.

I have been using the Tom Cat mice bait boxes in the carport with the tractor in it and sticking some squares of the poison in the cars engine compartments. I am open for suggestions that work well.

I think the blocks of poison inside of the pet safe bait traps are better than the pellets because the mice can not as easily just grab large amounts of bait and store it every where.

They keep building nests under the dash of my B7510 and in the air filter.

Put wire mesh over the air intake, solved...

But no matter how much I clean and put bleach under the dash they come right back...I've used the mint rodent repellent under there and on top of the battery /radiator..That seems to work for a while till thier odor fades....then they move back in...:(

Gee I don't know- the dryer sheets "seems" to work for me so far. As for wasting money- I dont see how it can. I just swiped a few sheets from my wifes laundry stuff. :D No real cost- besides what do you have to lose with a couple sheets ?
