Brush Hogging Basics

About 2 weeks ago I did the same thing you are about to do - hook up a 3 point attachment for the first time in my life without any help / supervision other than what I learned here on TBN. Coincidentally, it happened to be a brush cutter too. And on a TC29D. Go Figure. Unlike you, I am not so mechanically inclined but was able to accomplish this task with a minimum of busted knuckles and chest pain so you will probably have no trouble whatsoever. All of the previous advice was right on target. I will add one more tip. If your PTO shaft does not immediately slide onto the tractor PTO, you can rotate the tractor PTO to allow the ends to match up. You cannot easily rotate the shaft that is attached to the brush cutter (at least I couldn't).

One other thing, the TC29D does not have check chains. Instead, it has what I think are called stabilizer arms. In any event, these need to be released (by removing a pin on each side) before attaching the lower arms to the brush cutter. Once the lower arms are attached, re-insert the pins in the stabilizer arms.

Although I attached mine without any direct guidance, I am fortunate in that my dealer lives down the street from me. So, once I had everything hooked up, I just drove down to his house and had him inspect the setup. Other than a minor adjustment in the top link, I had it just right. Thanks TBN!
