Now all you have to do is design the barn /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif.

Remember the drive through door so you can go in the front and out the back. (Also a good way to sneak out when no one is looking). Hmmm, maybe a hoist? Or some kind of specialty rack for parking attachments! /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif. Boy, this could be fun!

Hi Glueguy, appreciate your response to my post yesterday. I am new at this. I guess I did something right when I ordered a fold down ROPS. Hope I can remember to use it. It sounds like 7 foot garage doors are to low. Is this right?

Kmart sells a backup alert device for $26 that I have on my truck bumper and it warns of objects like shopping carts when I get within 5 ft.
You might be able to put it on top of Rops and get a beeping warning when you approach overhead door, tree limb, etc.
The angle of the dector will be critical so your head does not set it off, but it might be worth a try.

Been there and done that twice--both times lifting the front wheels off the ground and denting the fascia above the garage door (i usually leave the ROPS down). Harv's simple idea of a cow bell or two seems like it would be worthwhile. Mike S.

Since I got my canopy I find that I can see whether its gonna clear or not, so I don't forget about the ROPS the way I did before. The tractor now lives in a metal building with a 12' high door. That helps. (I live there too).

That's affirmative. My ROPS hits the garage door trim about an inch or so too high. Taking that much out of the foldable ROPS would have made it unecessary to fold it. Bummer is that the non-folding ROPS is more than that shorter; so would have worked w/o folding. /w3tcompact/icons/frown.gif

The simplest solutions seem to be the cowbell and/or the short ramps to lift the front wheels on the way in...

Of course I could just get a better remembery /w3tcompact/icons/crazy.gif. Naw, that would be too easy. /w3tcompact/icons/laugh.gif

I have a garage under with the shorter door height. If I religously BACK my tractor in, I have no choice but to note if the rops is folded or not. I'm just waiting for the day that I decide to simply drive straight in and add a few more inches of headroom! David

I don't know, David. I've done it both backing in and driving in and yes, I was looking behind me when I was backing up. /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

This is interesting because when I ordered my B7500 I compared mt garage door height to the specs that the Kubota brochure listed for the tractor to the top of the ROPS. Based on my measurements it indicated that I had almost an inch of clearance. My tractor ended up being delivered with folding ROPS and I never checked to determine if there was a difference in the height with the ROPS up.

As you can imagine, I was so busy watching the bucket to make sure I didn't hit anything going into the garage that I didn't bother to see that the ROPS was about to nab the trim on the front of the garage. Fortunately, it was just a small dent and no damage to the tractor.

So...the folding ROPS are taller than the standard........
