Tryed to start my lawn mower and it was whining a little and would not start. diagnosed the problem as starter and replaced starter and the old was snapped going to flywheel. started right up but when I put in gear it went real slow. Any ideas? trying to get running good as getting rid of the mower as I have just got a new one.

Sorry.
Didn't follow along with the problem. Any more details of what is happening, or not happening?

It started right up with new starter. I had pushed it back in the garage when the problem happened. It is one of those hydrostatic mowers which are hard to push. Well after it warmed up I put it in gear and it went really slow almost a crawl. I was wondering what to check next. Did I damage trans pushing or is a belt off. Need to know what to check as starts but not running corectly.
