Comparison Sub Compact green, orange or red

I am on the fence about this one. I am looking for a sub compact with FEL and BH. I have priced the JD 2305 @ $16,900, Kubota BX25@$15,900 and a massey GC2610TLB@ $16,390. I like all three, but I am negative about the JD lower hyd. oil flow @5.2 gpm, the size of the Kubota and the support for the massey. Any suggestions? I believe the pricing the OK, but want to make the right choice.

What type of 'playing' do you plan to get into on your 240 acres?
What role will your sub compact tractor play?
Do you have a bigger tractor aleady?

Plans are mainly for landscaping, cleaning some ditches and other small projects I have in mind. Yes, I do have a larger tractor and implements. Most of the property is in timber, with about 50 acres in pasture and farm pond.

I suggest you define further what jobs you plan your small tractor to do. For instance:

If you want to move piles of heavy clay dirt you may need a stronger loader. Smaller tractors tend to have undersized light material buckets. You may want to upgrade to a larger HD bucket.

Do you want or need:

- universal skid steer attach?
- a tooth bar?
- pallet forks?
- to mow?
- to keep your backhoe on and mow at the same time?
- foldable ROPS?
- a snowplow/snowblower? Front or rear?
- 3pt attachments?
- rear hydraulics / top-n-tilt?

The more you define your needs, the easier it will be to match you to your right tractor.

I compared specs and sealed the deal with a seat test. I really wanted a Case IH subcompact but you can only buy them used now.

Thanks for all the information. No dealer in my area had any inventory of these type tractors. So, I order the John Deere yesterday. Will be ready in three weeks. Long time to wait.
