Looks really well done. Was that your plan or a bought one?

It also looks like it only has about 130 degrees of swing (?). If so, does that seem to limit it's usefullness? Mine has 180 degrees and I would like to be able to put the spoils farther back!

I built this backhoe for my 2210. I thought it turned out well.
I had these pictures posted in the JD forum awhile back. I thought their might be some interest over here.

Nicely done. I've got plans for a hoe for my AC 5020, hope to start cutting metal soon.

but the designer for my plans says less than $2000. Closer to $1500. I'll have to make my own mount as the plans are drawn for a smaller tractor.

hmmmm i was afraid of that..... Not that im saying yours isnt nice, but it certianly puts a 3K-4K entry level small hoe in perspective for a "bolt on" solution.... not having to spend the hours fabbing it up, countless trips to get custom hoses and fittings etc.

let see some action shots! :D

lwalsh,

Your 2210 is about the same size as my Simplicity Legacy diesel. Do you have an extra hydraulic aux. circuit to run your hoe in addition to the loader arm lift circuit and bucket tilt/curl circuit? You mentioned using the tilt/curl lines to run your plow angle which is what I do with mine because I don't have that third aux. line (just a joystick for loader controls). According to JD specs., you are running at 5+ gpm on the tractor hydraulics for your hoe or anything else. Enlighten me, if you would, as to how you plumbed this and how you get enough hydraulic power to run that awesome BH. I'd love to build one too. Thanks.

Dave

Sorry I haven't been around for a few days to answer any questions. The hyd. power available is what it is, 5gpm at 2000 psi. I had a legacy at one time and it had more like 2.5 gpm at 1000 psi. The new ones may have alot more. At that time they used a pto pump for the loader. The 2210 has test ports on the spool valve that I was able to tap into. This is what woods does to put their hoe on this tractor. The hoe has 150 deg of swing and cost $2000 to build.

Yeah, you have to "want" to build it. Remember, I'm not the original poster if you're asking for action shots of the green backhoe.
