Bought a sub soiler from TSC to do some light trenching and 100' later took it back with a busted weld. I heard "snap" and looked just in time to see it twist into a pretzel. The weld was just awful. I can do better and I'm awful. They gave me my money back no problem. Now what do I do about the trenching? Trying to avoid the backhoe -- too time consuming and too big a trench for what I'm doing. They'll have a resupply at TSC in 2 weeks.....do I give 'em another chance at me?

Same thing happened to mine... looked back and noticed the paint cracking and peeling.

I have one almost like it and i've abused it terribly. I have not broke it but the paint is junk! All i can say is it i buy for a cheap price and it breaks, i'll straighten it up and reweld it so its right. This ordeal is common for me, i don't think much about it . . .John

I built mine and it is strong enough to stop the tractor in its tracks:

OK...so I can either spend enough to not be disappointed again...or buy the same cheapo + a welder to fix it each time it breaks.......guess I need to think about this.

I like the way that looks and I know it will hold up for the jobs we all have to doaround the place. How deep will it go and what did it cost to make ?

Or you buy another one and beef it up before you use it. Shouldn't have to but I have a feeling that it was designed for people with scut and light weight cut tractors.

Farmboy, if your referring to the one I built. I really cannot say how much it cost. I had some steel and did buy some to build the thing. And, I guess senility is setting in because I can't say how deep it will go. But, it has done everything I have asked of it so far. I don't use it very often but when I do need it the thing is there. Wish I could be more specific about the particulars you were wanted.

All subsoilers should have a shearpin engineered into the basic design... Ken Sweet

I agree, subsoilers should have a shear pin in their design. Better to break a shear pin than to destroy your subsoiler.
