Shortly I will be needing to trench for 1/2" PVC water line and 12/3 romex. I really dont want to dig a 16" wide trench with the BH. Which 3 point attachment would work best giving me the most depth ~12-18" deep?

Thanks for any input, Chuck.

Bradco 3PT Trencher works very well...:D

How deep can you guys go with the subsoiler setup? Interesting discussion. Thanks.

With my particular subsoiler about 12" average I would say. I would guess you could get deeper with a different subsoiler, but this is fine for what I am doing and the mild climate in Mississippi.

Another post ask about attaching the pipe and putting an elbow on it. I just put a cap on the 1" schedule 40 PVC I am using with my sprinkler system and knock the cap off when I am finished pulling. I make a starter hole and a lead in trench for the pipe then drop the subsoiler to the depth I want and pull away. Make sure your trench is free of underground obstructions and fasten the pipe securely. I used a web strap one time and it unraveled a bit and let the pipe float to the surface. Had to redo that pull. It is not hard to fasten the pipe, just do it securely.

Pulling pipe with a subsoiler involves some work, but if you do not want to rent a trencher it sure works for me.

OK a picture of what is left and all bent up from rolling around. I hope you can get the idea better than words.

I cannot lay claim to this installation or the pictures, but the attachments say it all. I would expect to go deeper in my own installation however, but this was one slick setup. It appears that maybe the sub-soiler was one that was a dual subsoiler/middle buster, which sometimes have a short shaft.
