Thanks. It was milky white and the screen was damaged, tore and covered in "snot". A friend recommended just that, run it with el cheapo, drain it and fill it with the good stuff.

Ahhh... that's different. Using a 'just as good' fluid as a flush makes more sense.

Label on Traveler (Tractor Supply) Brand Premium Hyd Fluid. Normally sells for $37. They run it on sale some times for $29. I have got lucky once or twice and found it on sale while I had a 10% off coupon. That's when I buy 5 or 6 buckets to keep on hand.

Yep, the "recommended for" instead of meets "x specs" is what I was alluding to, clever wording that makes you wonder what is actually in that bucket. But like has been mentioned the 950 is really not the kind of tractor that needs the higher end oil for clutch and brake protection.

Alls I know is I've been running this oil in my New Holland 575E backhoe and have topped up my JD 855 with it for years with no ill effects. You folks can buy all the $85 buckets you want if it helps you sleep at night.
