Success with Front Tire Replacements on JD 4600

After 22 years and over 3000 hours, I finally replaced the front tires on my JD4600 tractor. I was a bit concerned as the JD dealer said they didn’t deal with it and suggested that I talk to a local tire shop. I did this 2 years ago during the pandemic and was told that tires were unavailable and very costly… was quoted almost $850 for two tires. This time around, I had my future son-in-law farmer who works as a mechanic on a farm fixing JD tractors and such take a look…. He got their information off the tires, went to Amazon, and found the same tires for $224 with free shipping. I ordered the tires, switched them out, and they work wonderfully.

I guess I never would have thought of checking Amazon…. But it worked. I mentioned it to the JD Dealer and they chuckled - saying that is why they don’t sell tires. They will put them on, but they can’t compete otherwise.

Lesson learned.

BTW, anyone using a JD4600 out there?

I found my Alliance 550 tires on Amazon too.

Bought my small trailer tires with new wheels from Amazon and 4 other sets mainly "Coopers" plus some motorcycle tires.

Haven't needed tractor tires Yet but eventually will.
Gave up on ordering to save money on Walmart's site. The local store had a fit over the Walmart internet order prices and it was just a hassle.
They told me to order them at the store and when I did the price was full retail so....

Simple tire on ebay (which does carry tractor tires) and also Priority Tire Have been Great,
just received 10 ply load range E Hankook Ipike directional studded snows for the one ton

Very impressive in snow and especially ice.

The tire machine and balancer have been getting used quite a bit.

Sometimes Amazon has the lowest price I always check the other sellers to, sometimes Amazon does not have a particular size or brand never know until after checking

I'm in the process of finding R4 tires front and rear for a jd 4700. been looking on Amazon and Ebay. gonna make some calls tomorrow. I had to put tires on my JD 710c a few years back. and my local guy at the time beat everyone's price. Gonna see if he can do it again?
