Couple years ago I acquired this splitter for $100 at the local craigslist.
Replaced engine from vertical to horizontal engine.
Ever since It works like champion,
Suddenly It failed to split the log a few days ago.
I discovered one part of Lovejoy was worn completely without any knowledge.
But the other side looks fine somehow.
No idea what happened but fixed.
Thanks.

The log splitter is working well since replacing half of the love joy coupling and rubber spider..

I have split more than 3 cords since being replaced.
Still watching the coupling and spider but looks ok so far..

I would suspect misalignment caused the wear but certainly hard to confirm once completely wore out.
