SUDT2 versus Universal Hydraulic Fluid

   / SUDT2 versus Universal Hydraulic Fluid #81
Howdy ovrszd,
I will definitely start a new thread when if and when I do this. I'm hoping that i will have my tractor paid for by the time i hit the 600 hour mark.

So if I decide to switch to Amsoil (I have a friend who can get dealer prices),what exactly am I looking for? I *assume* that Amsoil doesn't label their SUDT-equivalent "SUDT".

Thanks,

I believe this is what you are looking for. Synthetic Tractor Hydraulic/Transmission Oil SAE 5W-30
Synthetic Tractor Hydraulic/Transmission Oil SAE 5W-30
They list it as equivalent to UDT no reference to the newer SUDT spec but no worries my manual specifies both and i'm fairly confident that this premium full synthetic exceeds this SUDT Spec. I wonder if kubota has a SUDT spec. They may just have a label it with an S as semi synthetic blend marker. the kubota site says both are interchangeable making me think they might not have a separate set of requirements
SPECIFICATIONS
AMSOIL Hydraulic/Transmission Oil is recommended for transmission and hydraulic applications that require any of the listed specifications. Consult your owner's manual for specific application requirements.

Do you have a copy you can post of this JD oil test your refer to??

It was done with our customers tractors, there was nothing more then what we noticed as well as customers comments. As far as jd oils I have nothing of there newer oils which have been changed since the thirty year comparisons That I refered to. Here in the northeast the condensation is a problem do to the hot and cold. Some oils do absorb the water better then others and that is where the HYtran has been a plus for tractors here. With out any leaks of moisture getting in, it normally takes about two years depending on winter storage conditions for the oil to become contaminated with moisture.
