headlight fluid???
Not familiar with this item. How is it packaged? Does it come in different strengths? Where do you buy it? Thanks for educating me.
Dusty

Dusty, my dealer sells it in small bottles. I'm not sure about strengths, but there are 2 grades of brightness he sells, the normal 'bright glow' fluid, and the 'high power' fluid.

Went to TSC today, remembered this thread and picked up a container of relative bearing grease. Put it in that big toolbox behind the seat.

'bright glow' fluid, and the 'high power' fluid.

Will this the fluid also let you Dip your lights.:D

Now on serious note: A carry along tool kit that covers everything would be a little heavy, very expensive and you'd probably have to put in the bucket or weld up a rear counter weight bracket to put it on.

Pliers, spare lynch pins, cotter pins, muti head type screw driver, and a couple of crescents or a small pipe wrench. And maybe the right sized wrenches required for bleeding the injection system after you check the bottom of the fuel tank for debris.:D

And that is why I also carry a box of matches. When you hold a lit match at the fuel filler opening they give off enough light to see into the bottom of the fuel tank

I've been real impressed with the little gizmo from Crescent that acts as a fully adjustable 6 pt. socket and ratchet in one. It fits anything from about 3/8" to 7/8". Don't bother with the cheap knock-off version. It's junk.
Yup Dargo, those knock off tools come from China and are made with inferior metal. They weigh more but need the extra steel to compensate for using inferior alloy. Besides the extra weight carried by those tools will compact the ground too much and stifle plant growth.

If you can find Bazooka Joe bubblegum, I would suggest it. It was long lasting and the preferred chaw during my many ball games as a kid. On a serious note, i have enjoyed the kidding and hope I offended no one. Many folks tend to be too busy to laugh anymore. Also, I have been around tractors and farming and have used many tractors in my lifetime. We can never prepare for every breakdown that can happen, but we can protect ourselves from minor mishaps and hopefully not let them become major breakdowns. One of the best tools an operator can have is awareness of his surroundings and the conditions. Many problems happen because of neglect or getting in too big of a hurry. The basic stuff that I carry consists of a hammer, vise grips or channel lock pliers, an adjustable wrench and pipe wrench, a fairly good-sized screwdriver, several types of pins, a chain, a few nuts and bolts, ether in winter for the older diesels, wire ties, and YES, some wire and baling twine. There have been times when the wire and twine made the difference between driving to the shop or leaving a tractor parked in the field. I may tweak this mixture depending upon which tractor I am using or what job I am doing. Everyone should use what is best for their situation. Just make sure you use it safely.

What is in a tool box is as different as the man building it.... put in there whatever you think you might need --- what that is will change with the season or task at hand. I have a couple of things that stay in mine ... a spud wrench, large channel lock pliers, rags, lynch pins, fence tool & fence wire. Other items come & go depending on what I'm doing...... The size of the box will determine a lot as well.
