Dealer is telling me that the JD cutting edge for 73" HD bucket comes at 98 inches and must be cut? Without cutting charges or bolts/nuts it is $328. They have in past had cutting edges made for each bucket. Can anyone suggest a non-JD reversible edge that is correct length. If I am not mistaken I believe the holes are 5/8" diameter at 6 inch spacing with edge distance on ends 3 " from end. Thanks in advance

It is common to have to cut to proper length, it seems that the buckets are spaced for bolt on teeth. Check the net and local steel suppliers.

I would check other dealerships including other brands for a 84"" grader blade. A 5/8" x 6" x 84" blade double edged should run less than $225 with new bolts out the door. My recent purchases of grader blades similar are running $25/ft for Canadian made blades (good quality).

Most that I have seen are setup for 12" centers on the bolts, the last blade I bought was a 96" double edge for my small landplane and it was $203 at the Deere dealer. Picked up the plow bolts (8) from the Kubota dealer for about $30+.

On the 73" HD bucket the outside spacings are 9 inches so you would have to rebore the end bolt holes but the other holes will line up with 12" spacings. Note that this should be a flat blade not a curved blade.

I think dealer or parts person needs to read parts catalog a little better. parts key #17 BW14763 Cutting Edge 1 (B) (D) 1910mm

BW14763 Cutting Edge ADD 188.10 USD (this should include bolt & nuts)

I have the 73" bucket and I had the dealer install the appropriate cutting edge, factory fit, no cutting. Price installed was $150...sounds like someone at the dealer doesn't know what they're talking about.

Thanks a bunch. ordered one today from my original dealer (closer to my farm). The local dealer in my town does not know about this?

Installed part number BW14763. The width of plate is exactly the same as welded on cutting edge ; 6 inches. That means the beveled edges of both are on top of one another and the bolt on edge does not protrude out in front of welded edge. The pictures do not match the part and the bolt on edge does not protect leading edge of welded edge. Dealer says part is defective and will contact Deere to resolve. Dealer agrees the bolt on edge should be about 8 inches wide vs 6.

On my 72" HD bucket (for the 110tlb) the welded in place edge has the holes offset forward towards the leading edge. It is welded to the bucket along the centerline and is 6" width. The replaceable edge is double sided and is 6" width also and the bolt holes are down the center line. This places the replaceable edge out front by approximately 1". I would reason the bolt holes on the welded single edged blade would be offset this same distance and be two inches from the leading edge.

That's strange...I have the same 73" bucket and my welded-in cutting edge is 4", while the bolt on edge is 6" if you include the sharp edge on both ends

What you are suggesting is that the line of holes on my bucket "welded on" cutting edge are NOT forward enough to result in the bolted on edge being forward. That would explain what I am seeing. I can't imagine the line of holes being mis located on the bucket so I assumed the new bolted edge is too narrow. I am disappointed either way. Thanks for the information
