Re: Suggestions for changes in our TC Series Tract

I have a TC35 with 4wd, a grill guard, the extenable 3pt, wheel weights, and the 16LA loader...

First thing that comes to mind... a stronger alternator. When I told the dealer I wanted him to mount two halogen's on the roll bar and another work light on there for the back, he warned me about having all these on simultaneously as it would "prematurely burn out the alternator".... Heck man, whatever happen to a little bit of over engineering????

Another thing, I wish the undercarriage had more protection. I like the 14 " of ground clearance on my new TC35 but I do a lot of bush hogging and it would be nice to have more protection for those clips, hoses, pipes, etc. down there. I liked the way they did it on the Kioti DK35.

Third thing... make the ROPS adjustable in terms of height (not sure if that will allow for maintained safety but the other day, I nearly took out my motion detector spotlight with the ROPS .. .i woke up when it was 2 inches from impact..... /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif).

The ROPS is a pain in my butt to put up and down... It rarely lines up and forces me to wiggle and giggle... until I get it right. Make it easier....

.... leaving all that a side, there are some things I really do like such as the turning radius (and i don't have supersteer), the safety features (this is coming from a former 8n lover), the 4wd, is working out very nicely... it's a really nice beast of burden...

Guys, I'm still on my first tank of diesel... still want to call it gas ...hahaha /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif....

( Steel,

On your mower, A little trick I was told by my dealer that is not in the manual. Have all height adjustments in the 4" height, then remove the front pins only, after you have the front pins out then take your back height adjustment and set it up as high as it will go. Basically setting you deck at an angel. Then you should be able to remove the back pins. Just reverse the process for putting back on. That trick is not in the book but has helped drastically. Also having a loader to raise the tractor once everything is disconnected helps also. )

Gee this has to be a first, I am quoting myself.

I made a mistake in telling you to put the mower back on just backwards from how you took it off. First time taking it off and back on last week made me remember, when taking off you take the front pins out first, raise the deck on the back side then take the pins out in the back. But putting back on is where I told you wrong, level the deck again, put the pins back in the front, then raise the deck with the back wheels and put the back pins in. I originally told you to just reverse the action and that is not right. Just couldn't remember from last summer. It has to be my age.

There's another great suggestion. I'm 6'1" and the throttle, and my knee have a lot of contact. I find the tractor decreasing in RPMs all the time. Maybe a better option is set the seat back farther? As far as the CD player, I like to hear what the tractor sounds like when mowing. I almost lost the PTO unit on top of the MMM one time, and the only thing saving me was sound.

Thanks Murph,

My next step is taking the FEL off for mowing this summer. The MMM is sometimes a problem, but I think the height adjustment thing will help a lot.

Oh by the way, I do love my Boomer. This little guy does one heck of a job. I just felt I needed to add that for the Orange, and Green people. /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

yeap,Steelfan, I can see or rather hear that. But I learned while working on a missile launcher in the NAVY (had an old timer teaach me what to listen for)to set the radio so can aleast hear the tunes if barley and still hear all the mechanics and hydro noise together. But i cant say I could still pick them out the mechanical noises that is. but i probably could i have to remind my wife when ever she tries to talk to me and i'm around the tractor or working with tools to actually get my attention don't just say something in my direction and think i heard it. odds are i didn't. I still have the habit of locking on to mechanical sounds. Sound crazy... I thought so at 1st but after 3 yrs you tend learn your equipment....

I have the factory canopy on my tc21d and they did not alow for the angle of the role bar so it is higher in the front than the back. this makes me nuts. the sun shines right under it in the evenings and right in the ol' eyes when i'm cutting the pasture. which it would not if it wasn't tilted up that couple 3 inches /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif. I've consided adding a sun visor on hinges. Maybe a piece if lexan that i can putt limo tint on.
any better ideas? Other than a nother canopy........ /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Better instrumentation/gauges as in oil pressure, oil temperature and voltmeter gauges.

Tilt meter.

Some sort of a hook or rack for the FEL hydraulic lines. The black rubber bungie chord is kind of tacky.

More capacity in the electrical system (i.e. bigger alternator).

The FEL control seems to be 'four' way, can raise or lower or roll the bucket, but can't raise/lower and roll at the same time. Is that correct or was I doing something wrong? Would be nice if it was 'eight' way so you could raise/lower the loader while rolling the bucket forward/backword at the same time.

12V outlet (did I miss that somewhere?)

Cup holder would be nice as well.

Chuck
