Suggestions for changes in our TC Series Tractors

It's interesting the difference in the gauges.. the delux model has a temp. gauge in the upper right.. plus my RMP gauge doesn't have the green or redline markings the picture shows. I'd like to have an oil pressure gauge.. off the wall.. an electronic tilt meter.. that's tied into weight sensors for the FEL & 3 pt. hitch work loads... and a sexy ladies voice telling you.. your about to flip your tractor over!

Re: Suggestions for changes in our TC Series Tract

yeah - I've certainly been considering after market additions - but sitting on top like that wouldn't last me 20 minutes in the woods. I fairly routinely drive through lots of greenbriar and grape vine that would rip those off in a heartbeat. I'll have to find someplace safe yet easily seen to mount 'em.

I would like to see the rear hydraulics located somewhere out of the way of the top link of the 3pt. Also, a nice set of lights mounted in the roll bar facing forward and back. Here up north a trans oil heater sure would take some stress off the hydro during cold startups. A rear seven pin plug for trailer lights would be cool. I could also really use a front hydraulic kit to power my grapple instead of the hoses coming from the rear that I have rigged up. Lets see, if only the loader could pic about 500 lbs more and I had about 10 more hp.....

Solo is right , the 18 needs more weight but my '01 has the worst seat i have ever used. I added a little more foam and that helped but not enough. BETTER SEATS !!!!

More gauges would be nice. Temp., volt.,fuel, tach, oil plus idiot lights should be standard on the Ds. Placing the battery someplace where it will do minimum damage yet still be accessible would be nice. Also, a battery compartment that would allow a greater latitude of battery sizes to fit. Only loose nut/bolt I have found was a lock nut on the hydro pedal dampening piston. IMO loose bolts/nuts in a new tractor are a reflection on the quality of the set-up/service of your dealer. LIGHTS: the position of the headlights are semi-worthless with FEL on. Place the headlights somewhere else. Like the fenders. Actually front & rear facing lights on the fenders plus an option(wired & mounting brackets factory installed) of high on the ROPS lights(your choice of purchasing spot or trap beams). More fender tire clearance. With ags & chains on my 25D it looks like it would be real tight. Optional quick attach/removal shield protecting the underside of the tractor. Including the hydro filter.

Great Point with the Headlights. I totally agree with the FEL on they are somewhat useless. Clearance for opening hood is close too FEL also. You need to be careful so your hands don't get caught. I never thought much about chains, but I would think they would be close to the fenders. Not much room there. Thanks for all the posts.

I use a 6 gallon plastic 2 hadle can from wal-mart (even have a yellow one)with a $4 fuel spout I found in the auto dept.(clear flixable spout)that opens and closes with a short twist of the base. Set the can on the fel climb up take off the lid lean the can over. stick the spout in and open. No mess no fuss. They usually last a few yrs.Just don't drop the can on the spout it will snap off. /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif
I guess they could have found a way to mounted the tank in the back but where would they have put the little tool box on my TC21D?Under the hood? Hey maybe that would stay dry.... /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

I used to have a pump a long while back for the wife to use with 4wheeler and mower, but found the seals don't last long with gasoline so I figure diesel would eat it up too.

How bout a place to mount a FM/cd player? SO what if you need a 600watt amp and speakers to hear it and a new super duty altinator to push it. Just think, the whole nieghbor hood could rock to your BOOMER... /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I actually have thought about mounting one in Canopy but figured even the best of the cheap cd players would skip with way that thing vibrates.
Maybe I'll try those hearing protectors at WALLY WORLD(WALMART) for $50 with the built in AM/FM tuner.......

It would be nice if you had to hit both brakes to disengage the cruise not just the one brake. I rarely turn with the brake but it is nice if you need to turn with it.
I find it fun /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif to try pushing the go pedel with one foot and then trying to reach the left or right brake with the other to turn. So yep, I'd like to see the brakes on the left with the clutch. For the odd ocasion of brake turning and yep the go pedal could be a better design... /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif Once my warranty is completely up I may make some slight mods. It should be easy enough to rewire the brake cut out on the cruise and the go pedal well we'll see.... /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

HOWs about changing the throttle on the TC21D. I'm only about 5'9" and don't have the longest legs, but if I don't watch it, I find my knee will bump the throttle down.(push it foward). It should be turned the other way or put on the other side (thought about moving it there is a slot there)or mount it the way my riding mower is comming almost strsaight out of the console instead of sideways-ish....

Interesting.....

On the Class III, it IS the opposite: up is faster.

A cup/beverage holder is sorely missed. Especially when mowing in the heat of the summer. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif
