On some tractors, (some Yanmars), you can remove the input shaft from the transmission and use as an alignment tool with no problem. Don't know about the Iseki.

I did it!

Granted it took me a month. Thanks to everyone's advice, I got the clutch in and working. It's amazing how much quieter the tractor is now that I have a good release bearing.

I was sure that after dropping the front end off the jack and having the electrical system, fuel system, and hydraulic system taken apart for a month through rain storms, wind storms, etc., that I would have more work to do after getting the whole thing back together. Much to my surprise, however, the baby started on the first try. I hadn't even put a charger on the battery.

I do have a question about my hydraulic system, but I'll post it to a new thread.

I adjusted the release levers on the pressure plate to spec with a steel rule and a dial caliper. It was a little tedious, but I got the three fingers withing a few hundredths of an inch of each other.

I lined the clutch disk up with the pressure plate. It seemed to work well.

I didn't see anything wrong with the fly wheel, so I just rubbed it down with some 320 grit sand paper and then washed it off with a rag dipped in gasoline.

The pilot bearing seemed to be fine, so I just cleaned it up and put high temp bearing grease on it.

Thanks to everyone for chiming in with advice in this thread and others.
