I have a ditch bank flail mower. It does a great job. And I mow everything with it. I would look at some videos on line of them mowing the ditch banks, up and down, along the bank of lakes and of open pastures. They can almost mow as well as a finish mower. Your tractor should handle one with no problems. They can be hard to take on and off, but when I put my one, I leave it on for long periods as it will mow everything.

In our township the road crew comes around and bushhogs everybody's ditch as the need arises. Mostly twice a year. Maybe your township has a setup like that and maybe for a small fee they could zip down your drive in a few minutes.

I have a Woods ditch bank mower. DBH-5.30. It works really well for areas like you show. With the mower deck extended, it will mow right at 9' out from the tractor tire.

But, it's heavy. About 2,000#s. And Woods says you need a minimum of 60 HP at PTO.

I bought to mow the same type of locations as you- creek banks, sides of driveway, and under woods lines.

"backing down may be the best option at least on your road"

Not realistic, the "down" is too steep. Mowing up from the drive is what I am sort of doing, very time-consuming and I am not too sure how good it is for the bushhog.

I would gladly pay or heavily tip the county road crew to make a pass along my drive once or twice a year, I doubt that can happen. They happened to drive by a month ago when I had driven the zero turn off a steep hill along the county road into a ditch. We(two ladies) were lifting it out gently with my tractor. The road crew watched and the water department men happened to drive by at the same time. When they saw we knew what we were doing they (wisely) all stood by and watched.
We had a good laugh. Today I mowed the same area that got me in trouble but I put a 25 lb weight on the uphill side and did ok.
