Thanks for all the help. This week I will call the manufacturer to see what might be done and look for a Gorilla lift locally. All options are still open. In the mean time I am having a underground propane tank installed and have to do some trenching so time will be short temporarily.

According to the Gorilla Lift website, Tractor Supply, Cabela's, Rural King, Menards and Northern Tool carry them. Might make some calls and see. Also, I think you can order direct from GL.

Since I cut my homemade rear ramp off... it sure is nice to be able to walk up to the back of the trailer and throw stuff on and off the bed. Still have the option to put one of the aluminum ramps on and walk up/down that like the old gate. Just keep the 'removal' thing in the mix.....

We make trailer gate aids out of PVC pipe and a set of garage door springs.

There is a commercial product called Gorilla Lift.
